New Partnerships To Share ‘Care for Colorado Principles’ with Millions of Colorado Travelers

The Colorado Tourism Office (CTO) and Leave No Trace Center for Outdoor Ethics today announced they have joined in an unprecedented partnership with three major state-based tourism organizations to educate travelers about reducing their impacts on Colorado’s natural resources and special places.

Colorado Poet Laureate Nominations are Open for Submissions

Nominations for the position of Colorado Poet Laureate are open for submissions. The Poet Laureate position was created to promote an appreciation of poetry in Colorado and to honor outstanding Colorado poets. The Poet Laureate serves as an active advocate for poetry, literacy, and literature by participating in readings and other events at schools, libraries, literary festivals, and the State Capitol.

Colorado Tourism Leadership Journey Class of 2018

The Colorado Tourism Office (CTO) today announced the inaugural class for the Colorado Tourism Leadership Journey, a brand-new, yearlong executive training program aimed at building the state tourism industry’s bench strength. 

The Class of 2018 includes 20 participants from tourism settings as diverse as Expedia, YMCA of the Rockies and the National Park Service. Their yearlong experience will begin at the Colorado Governor’s Tourism Conference Oct. 25-27 in Grand Junction.

A new way to tour Colorado invites travelers to explore five rural destinations as part of a unique itinerary highlighting arts and cultural experiences. The Colorado Creative Corridor is a 331-mile trail that links the mountain towns of Carbondale, Paonia, Crested Butte Ridgway, and Salida. These five towns combine to offer a collective experience of unique event programming and activities alongside mountain eclecticism, majestic vistas and outdoor recreation, and authentic Colorado mountain culture.

Colorado Lieutenant Governor Reveals State’s Blueprint 2.0 Award Recipients

Colorado Lieutenant Governor Donna Lynne joined local officials and State representatives at the Logan County Courthouse to reveal the 17 Colorado communities selected as 2018 Blueprint 2.0 program award recipients.
