Thank you for visiting the Colorado Office of Economic Development and International Trade (OEDIT) website. This notice (the “Privacy Notice”) describes how and why OEDIT collects and uses information through our website and other OEDIT services (collectively, the “Services”). What information do we collect when you use our services?

We collect any personal information you provide to us through use of our Services, through our online forms, or otherwise. Personal information may include your name, home address, email address, phone number, Social Security or other government ID numbers, online account names and passwords, or any other information you provide that could be used to identify you (“Personal Information”).

We also may collect information such as credit card information, bank account information, and billing contact information that you provide to us (“Payment Information”).

When you visit our website or engage with us on social media, we collect certain information such as your IP address, device type, browser type, the pages you visit on the website, your interactions with our ads, webpages and social media platforms through which you accessed our Services, and social media usernames (“Analytic Data”).

How do we use your information?

We use Personal Information as needed to deliver Services to you, and to customize and support your use of our Services. We also use Personal Information and Payment Information you provide to manage your accounts, to process orders or other transactions, to communicate with you about our Services, and to send you marketing communications based on your preferences.

We may use your IP address to identify the general geographic area from which you access the website to help serve you content through the Internet. We use other Analytic Data for systems administration purposes, to prevent abuse of the Services, to track user trends, and to improve the Services.

How do we share your information?

We share your information as needed with our third-party service providers, advertising partners, analytics partners, and business partners that support our Services and communications. If you sign up for our text messaging service, we will not share your phone number or other mobile data related to the service with any third parties for marketing purposes without your consent. We may disclose your Personal Information to comply with applicable laws, court orders or other legal processes, to protect the rights of OEDIT or individuals, or to otherwise resolve disputes. We will not sell or otherwise distribute your Personal Information without your consent.

OEDIT is Subject to Open Records Laws

The Colorado Open Records Act (“CORA”) applies to information we collect. Section 24-72-201, C.R.S. says, “It is declared to be the public policy of this state that all public records shall be open for inspection by any person at reasonable times, except as provided in this part 2 or as otherwise specifically provided by law.”

If we request Personal Information through the Services or you provide Personal Information to us, state and federal law may protect that information. However, all information becomes a public record once it is provided and may be subject to public inspection and copying if not protected by federal or state law. Furthermore, the information filed with OEDIT may be stored electronically and may be made accessible to the public through OEDIT’s Services.

Users are cautioned that the collection of personal information that may be provided by or about children will be treated the same as information provided by an adult and may be subject to public access.
