Colorado Change Leader Institute Cohort announced for Spring 2018

Colorado Creative Industries (CCI) today announced the participants for this year’s Spring Change Leader Institute, which is taking place April 9-11 in Colorado Springs. The Institute creates a statewide network for creative professionals and community leaders, and supports CCI's goal of enabling cultural and community leaders to work through environmental and organizational change.

Keynote Speakers Announced for the 7th Annual Creative Industries Summit

Colorado Creative Industries (CCI) today announced the keynote speakers for the seventh annual Colorado Creative Industries Summit held May 10-11, 2018 at the DoubleTree by Hilton Greeley Lincoln Park in Greeley, Colo. The annual Summit is the only statewide convening for Colorado’s creative community leaders, artists and organizations to connect, learn and get inspired.

Colorado's Arts Industries Contribute $13.7B to the State's Economy

New data released this month by the U.S. Bureau of Economic Analysis (BEA) and the National Endowment for the Arts (NEA) offers an insightful picture of the impact the arts have on the nation’s and, for the first time, the states’ economies. According to the Arts and Cultural Production Satellite Account (ACPSA), Colorado’s arts industries contribute $13.7B to the state’s economy, employing 100,631 who earned $7B. The arts contributed more than Mining or Transportation to Colorado’s economy.

New Work by Colorado Poet Laureate Supported by Term Extension

Governor John Hickenlooper introduced Joseph Hutchison as Colorado’s most recent Poet Laureate in September of 2014. In this role, Hutchison serves as an advocate for poetry, literacy and literature in Colorado. Activities of the Poet Laureate include visiting local schools and libraries, participating in Arts & Humanities Month, and reading at literary festivals.

Creative Capitol Exhibit: Discover Southern Colorado

Spanish Peaks Arts Council has been selected for the Creative Capitol Exhibition. The exhibit will be active from March to June 2018.

This exhibition at the Colorado State Capitol is a collection of works by 25 members of the Spanish Peaks Arts Council, located in La Veta, Colorado. Many members travel at least an hour to participate in SPACe shows, choosing to live in rural areas of southern Colorado.
