Aidyn Reid Wins 2021 Poetry out Loud

Aidyn Reid of Fountain Valley School in Colorado Springs was named the 2021 Colorado Poetry Out Loud State Champion. Some of Reid’s earliest memories are of being read poetry by her mother. 

“When I was young, my mom would read me “Where the Sidewalk Ends” by Shel Silverstein, so I have only fond memories of prose like this,” said Reid. “I definitely find myself attracted to satirical work and even silly poetic work like Seuss.”

Colorado Creative Industries to Receive $808,100 Partnership Award from the National Endowment for the Arts

Denver — Colorado Creative Industries has been approved for an $808,100 National Endowment for the Arts (NEA) FY 2021 partnership agreement to address priorities identified at the state level. These funds will support the arts in areas such as cultural tourism, community revitalization, economic development, education, and health and human services.  

Colorado Creative Industries Announces Winners of Poetry Out Loud Contest

DENVER, CO (March 16, 2021) — Colorado Creative Industries announces the winners of the Colorado Poetry Out Loud™ contest. The 2021 Colorado State Champion is Aidyn Reid from Fountain Valley School in Colorado Springs. The state Runner-up is Alejandra Naranjo from Eaton High School and third place winner and second runner-up is Savannah Wanebo from Valor Christian High School in Highlands Ranch. 

Colorado Creative Industries Secures New Funding for Creative Aging

Colorado Creative Industries (CCI), a division of Colorado’s Office of Economic Development and International Trade, recently secured new funding from a national grant program to advance creative aging programs for older adults in Colorado.

Colorado secured $23,000 to fund a two-year partnership between CCI and Think 360 Arts for Learning to expand the organization’s existing Creative Aging program to reach more older adults in rural Colorado. 

722 Individuals, Businesses and Organizations awarded $7.4 million through the Colorado Arts Relief Grant

DENVER— Colorado Creative Industries (CCI) announced today that 722 grantees have been awarded $7.4 million in COVID-19 economic relief funding through the Colorado Arts Relief Fund. This fund was made possible by the Colorado legislature during the Colorado special session in December 2020. 

Applications for Colorado's $7.5M Art Relief Program for Individuals, Businesses and Organizations Now Open

The Colorado Office of Economic Development and International Trade (OEDIT) today announced it is accepting applications for the Colorado Arts Relief Fund for Individuals and the Colorado Arts Relief Fund for Business and Organizations. The two funds are made possible by a General Assembly funding initiative passed during the Colorado Legislature’s December special session.
