The Business Funding & Incentives Division of the Colorado Office of Economic Development & International Trade (OEDIT) announced today that Kit Carson County has been designated as a Rural Jump-Start (RJS) Zone. This designation is intended to encourage economic development and job creation by offering new businesses or businesses that move to these zones significant financial benefits.

In his State of the State address, Governor Polis outlined his vision for Colorado and how to address housing challenges. Today, Governor Polis and the Business Funding & Incentives division of the Colorado Office of Economic Development and International Trade (OEDIT) announced the first three recipients of the Innovative Housing Incentive Program (IHIP) grant.

The Colorado Creative Industries (CCI) division of the Colorado Office of Economic Development and International Trade (OEDIT) announced today that the Latino Cultural Art Center (LCAC) in Denver and Clear Creek Center for Arts and Education (CCCAE) in Idaho Springs have been selected to receive Community Revitalization Grants (CRG).

Today, the Cannabis Business Office (CBO) within the Colorado Office of Economic Development & International Trade (OEDIT) announced 27 businesses selected to receive the CBO’s Cannabis Business Grant. Launched in 2022 as a pilot program, the Cannabis Business Grant has been continued to support the ongoing growth of Colorado’s small cannabis businesses and foster equity and diversity within the state’s cannabis industry.

Governor Polis and the Global Business Development Division of the Colorado Office of Economic Development and International Trade (OEDIT) formally announced today that Amprius Technologies, Inc. (NYSE:AMPX), a leader in lithium-ion batteries with its Silicon Anode Platform, has signed a letter of intent for a 775,000 square foot facility in Brighton, Colorado. Amprius plans to establish a gigawatt scale factory to support lithium-ion battery production for the U.S. electric mobility market.

The Colorado Creative Industries division of the Colorado Office of Economic Development and International Trade (OEDIT) and Lighthouse Writers Workshop are pleased to announce that Hana Kebede of Overland High School has been named the 2023 Colorado Poetry Out Loud State Champion. Kebede will advance to the national competition in May.

The Colorado Creative Industries (CCI) division of the Colorado Office of Economic Development & International Trade (OEDIT), and Lighthouse Writers Workshop announce today that the Colorado state finals for Poetry Out Loud will be held on March 1, 2023, at 3:00 p.m. at the Lakewood Cultural Center located at 470 S. Allison Parkway in Lakewood, Colorado.

The Colorado Small Business Development Center (SBDC) Network, a division of the Colorado Office of Economic Development & International Trade (OEDIT), announced today that Hannah Krieger has been named State Director of the SBDC Network. This position is instrumental in supporting small businesses throughout the state as they start, grow, create quality jobs and contribute to the fabrics of their communities.
