Creative Capitol Exhibit: Colorado Scenic and Historic Byways

Colorado’s Scenic Byways has been selected for the Creative Capitol Exhibition. The exhibit will be active from February to April 2019.

This exhibition features photographs of all 26 of Colorado Scenic and Historic Byways. Colorado’s Scenic Byways program protects and promotes roadways that offer recreational, educational, and economic benefits to Coloradans and visitors. These byways unite communities and the stories of their collective past.

Colorado Poet Laureate Nominations are Open for Submissions

Nominations for the position of Colorado Poet Laureate are open for submissions. The Poet Laureate position was created to promote an appreciation of poetry in Colorado and to honor outstanding Colorado poets. The Poet Laureate serves as an active advocate for poetry, literacy, and literature by participating in readings and other events at schools, libraries, literary festivals, and the State Capitol.

Colorado Creative Corridor: Offering Travelers a New Creative Lens to Explore Rural Colorado

A new way to tour Colorado invites travelers to explore five rural destinations as part of a unique itinerary highlighting arts and cultural experiences. The Colorado Creative Corridor is a 331-mile trail that links the mountain towns of Carbondale, Paonia, Crested Butte Ridgway, and Salida. These five towns combine to offer a collective experience of unique event programming and activities alongside mountain eclecticism, majestic vistas and outdoor recreation, and authentic Colorado mountain culture.

ItyDity Music Company Awarded Creative Career Advancement Grant

Emily Satterlee is an exemplary Colorado creative based in the Fort Collins Creative District. Not only is Emily an active entrepreneur in a Colorado Certified Creative District, she received a Colorado Creative Industries (CCI) competitive Career Advancement Grant in the fall of 2017. Through that award, Emily expanded the marketing materials for her music company, ItyDity.
