To celebrate National Travel and Tourism Week, the Colorado Tourism Office honors frontline workers with the Top Frontline Tourism Worker Award. Members of the Colorado tourism industry nominate employees who do an outstanding job welcoming visitors to our state and providing them with the best experiences possible.
We will recognize winners through our social media channels, websites, industry-facing newsletters, and possible media interviews.
Winners will be announced on May 3.
You may nominate anyone who serves visitors directly in Colorado. Examples of professionals are restaurant workers, hotel concierge, and welcome center volunteers. You may nominate yourself or someone else.
The nomination period opens once a year from March to April. To nominate yourself or someone else, you will need to submit the Exceptional Frontline Worker Nomination Form.
You will need to submit a brief biography (up to 100 words) about the candidate and why they deserve the nomination.
You will need to provide a quality close-up photo or headshot of the candidate. The dimensions: should be 200 pixels by 200 pixels.
This is a competitive award program, and not all nominees receive the award. A panel of Colorado Tourism Office staff reviews nominations and recommends awards.
Nominations are placed in a pool of peers. From there, the panel makes selections based on the criteria below, highlighting the top tourism candidates. We will email both winners and the person who nominated them.
The committee reviews nominations on these criteria:
- demonstrates dedication and passion for Colorado tourism and hospitality
- knowledgeable in tourism and/or related subject areas
- writing is clear, creative and concise
- essay is within correct guidelines of spelling, grammar and punctuation
