Applications Open for Colorado’s 2021 Governor’s Award for Excellence in Exporting

DENVER – Colorado’s Office of Economic Development and International Trade announces that online applications are now open for the 2021 Governor's Award for Excellence in Exporting.
 
Established in 1970, the Governor’s Award for Excellence in Exporting recognizes economic growth through international business. Winners will be formally recognized at World Trade Day in May, the region’s annual premier international trade event.

$7.7 million Advanced Industries Awards Fuel 37 Colorado Start-ups

DENVER – November 19, 2020 – A Colorado company with revolutionary technology to create telepresence robotics, designed to expedite the adoption of robotic arms in advanced industrial and commercial applications was among 37 Colorado start-ups approved for funding as part of the Colorado Office of Economic Development and International Trade (OEDIT)’s Advanced Industries Accelerator Grant Program.

OEDIT to attend MEDICA 2020

Colorado companies to attend international export trade show

DENVER -- The Colorado Office of Economic Development and International Trade (OEDIT) will attend MEDICA, the leading international trade fair for the medical sector, from November 16 to November 19, 2020. New this year, the trade fair will be held virtually. 

More than 5,000 exhibitors are expected at the four-day trade fair including well-established companies and young startups.

U.S. Small Business Administration Awards Colorado $700,000 STEP Grant to Spur Small Business Exports

DENVER -- The U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA) has awarded the Colorado Office of Economic Development and International Trade (OEDIT) a $700,000 State Trade and Expansion Program (STEP) grant to promote international exports for small businesses. 

The State of Colorado has steadily increased its STEP funding since its inception. In 2015, Colorado received $195,938 and in 2019, it received $480,000. The $700,000 this year represents a nearly 46% increase in funding.

Colorado Pursues Economic and Trade Discussions with Mexico

DENVER -- Governor Jared Polis and Colorado Office of Economic Development and International Trade Executive Director Betsy Markey convened a virtual meeting with Governor Enrique Alfaro Ramírez of Jalisco, Mexico on Monday, August 31.

Also participating on the call were the US-Mexico Foundation, Mexican Council for Foreign Trade, and Biennial of the Americas.

EVRAZ Board Approves $500 Million Pueblo Expansion

OEDIT economic incentives spur hundreds of new Pueblo jobs

Denver, CO (August 13, 2020) – The Colorado Office of Economic Development and International Trade (OEDIT) has received notification that a half billion dollar manufacturing project has received corporate approval to proceed. The August 6th EVRAZ Board of Directors vote affirmed their intent to proceed with the planned Pueblo Plant Project expansion. The manufacturing expansion will be accompanied by a $250 million 240-megawatt solar facility developed in partnership with Xcel Energy and Lightsource BP.
