Today, Gov. Jared Polis, the Colorado Office of Economic Development and International Trade (OEDIT), and Colorado Housing and Finance Authority (CHFA) announced the first 16 recipients of the voter approved Proposition 123 Land Banking funds. This funding is intended to support Colorado communities as they acquire and preserve land for affordable housing, from Rangely to Denver and Salida to Huerfano County.   

Today, Governor Polis and the Colorado Office of Economic Development and International Trade (OEDIT) congratulate the Colorado—Wyoming Climate Resilience Engine (CO-WY Engine) on its groundbreaking selection by the U.S. National Science Foundation (NSF) as an NSF Engines grant recipient. This prestigious award positions the CO-WY Engine to receive up to $160 million over the next 10 years to transform Colorado and the region into a national leader in developing climate-resilient and sustainable technologies.

In Frederick, the company is opening a new center of excellence for the research and development functions of their robotics division. 

Today, Governor Polis and the Global Business Development Division of the Colorado Office of Economic Development and International Trade (OEDIT) will join Microchip, a leading producer of semiconductor devices, and the U.S. Department of Commerce, to announce a historic preliminary memorandum of terms (PMT) resulting in $90 million to modernize and expand a Microchip fabrication facility in Colorado Springs as part of $162 million in overall direct funding to support the company's semiconductor supply chain.

The Business Funding & Incentives Division of the Colorado Office of Economic Development & International Trade (OEDIT) announced today that Higher Purpose Homes, Ltd. is the first Montezuma County business to join the Rural Jump-Start (RJS) program. The RJS program is intended to encourage economic development and job creation in rural communities across the state.

Today, Governor Polis, the Office of Just Transition (OJT) within the Colorado Department of Labor & Employment, and the Office of Economic Development & International Trade (OEDIT) announced two new Coal Transition Community grants to fund projects that will diversify local economies and create new jobs in Moffat County and Oak Creek through the development of hydropower and expanded access to healthcare services.

Today, Governor Polis and the Business Funding & Incentives division of the Colorado Office of Economic Development and International Trade (OEDIT) announced three new recipients of the Innovative Housing Incentive Program (IHIP) grant.

The following projects were approved at the October 2023 Colorado Economic Development Commission meeting. The Colorado Economic Development Commission (EDC) develops incentive packages to assist with existing business expansions and new company relocations to grow jobs in all regions of the state. They typically meet on the third Thursday of every month.
