The CTO Marketing team advances Colorado’s competitive position as a leading four-season destination and strengthens the state’s economic growth through championing a strong Colorado brand, influencing travel to all four-corners of the state and promoting responsible travel while collaborating with industry partners.

Our main goals are:

  • Strengthen Colorado’s statewide economic growth and advance the state’s competitive position.
  • Promote and educate on responsible travel and destination stewardship.
  • Strive to ensure all feel represented and welcome in Colorado.

Campaigns

Launched in Summer 2024, Colorado Magic is the CTO’s primary advertising campaign, which is designed to strengthen and advance Colorado’s economy. Using a full funnel approach, the campaign aims to drive awareness, move the state into a visitor’s consideration set, and ultimately increase visitation to and spending in Colorado.

Do Colorado Right: The CTO’s destination stewardship campaign, is also a Hospitality Sales and Marketing Association International (HSMAI) award-winning campaign that educates visitors and residents on ways to travel responsibly throughout the state. Core messages include topics like fire prevention, trash mitigation, backcountry safety and sustainable travel. We invite all Colorado tourism partners to join us in sharing this important message. Partner Opportunities, Advertising, & Grants

Co-Ops: The CTO co-op program is an opportunity to help Colorado tourism partners maximize their advertising dollars through group purchasing media buys and promotion across the CTOs owned social media channels. 

Colorado.com Website Opportunities: We offer a variety of paid advertising opportunities on Colorado.com. With over 11.6 million sessions, Colorado.com is an excellent opportunity for tourism partners to expand their reach and connect with audiences.

Print Advertising: The CTO offers print advertising opportunities in our two print publications - Explore Colorado, Official Travel Guide, and Love, Colorado magazine. Reaching over 1 million people each year, these publications are great opportunities for partners to advertise.  

Welcome Center Brochure Advertising: Colorado organizations and businesses can submit brochures to display at 10 official Colorado Welcome Centers. These centers welcome visitors at every major highway leading into the state and help guide tourists.

Marketing Matching Grants: The Tourism Marketing Matching Grant provides funding to Colorado nonprofit organizations, destination marketing/management organizations, and government entities to support tourism marketing and promotional campaigns.

Marketing Portal

The Marketing Portal is a hub where destination marketing/management organizations (DMOs) can easily access the CTO's marketing information including brand assets, toolkits, and apply for co-ops.
