DENVER – The Colorado Office of Economic Development and International Trade (OEDIT) Executive Director and Chief Economic Recovery Office Patrick Meyers announced today that Hana Sayeed has been named Deputy Director of Economic Recovery and Deputy State Recovery Officer.
“Hana brings a depth of experience and knowledge that will serve Colorado well as we continue to drive the Colorado economic recovery,” said Meyers. “We are excited to welcome her and her vast, applicable experience to the team.”
In this newly established role, Sayeed will lead recovery officers in other state agencies and advise on OEDIT program structure, strategy and staffing, and oversee fraud prevention, reporting and monitoring, performance management, procurement and audit compliance in close collaboration with the OEDIT Executive Director, Division Directors and Division staff. Other state agency Recovery Officers will report directly to this position with a dotted line to the agency Executive Directors. This position is intended to have a two- to three-year tenure.
The Office of Economic Recovery and Relief is a newly established unit within OEDIT that will support economic recovery in the State of Colorado through the planning, development, and rollout of American Recovery Plan Act, CARES Act and State Stimulus funding. Sayeed will be responsible for creating, implementing, and coordinating departmental spending plans across the state system to ensure the advancement of key priorities for the state of Colorado and incorporate equity throughout the recovery process.
Sayeed comes to this new role from the Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment (CDPHE) where she is the Chief of Staff overseeing financial and building operations, strategy and performance, human resources, legal and compliance operations, and health equity grants programming. This experience includes leading the development and implementation of department-wide strategies for performance management, audit and procurement compliance, workforce development, and reporting.
Prior to joining CDPHE, Sayeed worked in the Governor’s Office as the Strategy and Operations Manager. There, Sayeed created and maintained the Governor’s Dashboard, a public-facing scorecard of the state’s top goals & 60 specific success metrics, including the development of a management system linked to the strategic plans across 18 executive branch departments.
