COLORADO SPRINGS – Today, Governor Polis and the Global Business Development Division of the Colorado Office of Economic Development and International Trade (OEDIT) announced that ITS, LLC, an emerging leader in Information Technology (IT) engineering, cybersecurity, and technology solutions for the aerospace and defense sectors, has selected Colorado Springs for expansion.
“There are 500 good new jobs coming to Colorado Springs. Colorado is home to more than 2,000 aerospace companies that support our state’s thriving aerospace industry and thousands of jobs around the state, while also hosting half our nation’s Space Force. By expanding in Colorado Springs, ITS will build on services that support our defense while creating 500 new good-paying jobs,” said Governor Polis.
ITS is a minority-owned, certified Service-Disabled Veteran-Owned Small Business (SDVOSB) with extensive experience in cybersecurity, full scale enterprise IT, systems engineering, space systems and associated ground systems. Established in 2017, ITS provides engineering solutions and services to the government and commercial sectors.
The expansion in Colorado Springs will include a capital investment of $7,050,000, increase space for personnel and advance ITS’ IT engineering capabilities, research and development initiatives, hardware and software solutions, advanced network communications, and cybersecurity capabilities. ITS’ decision to expand its Colorado footprint reflects the region’s expanding talent pool, strategic location near key defense and aerospace customers, and collaborative business environment.
“Colorado and Colorado Springs are aligned with ITS in our vision of attracting top talent to the region for the aerospace, defense, and technology sectors. Additionally, they are committed alongside us in developing and sustaining a comprehensive environment that will support us, and companies like ours, as we continue to push capability boundaries and innovate as valued members of the defense industrial base. We are excited about our decision to scale our operations and workforce here in Colorado Springs, further deepening our roots in a city that aligns perfectly with our mission, culture, and vision for the future,” said Hassan Campbell, President & CEO of ITS, LLC.
ITS expects to create 500 net new jobs at an average annual wage of $130,482, which is 200% of the average annual wage in El Paso County. Positions will include network/infrastructure engineers, software engineers, cyber systems analysts, systems administrators, and computer systems technicians.
“Over the last five years, Colorado has seen a 26% increase in the number of aerospace companies that call our state home. Companies like ITS play a critical role in supporting that growth and innovation while strengthening our economy, and we are thrilled to see ITS expand in Colorado Springs,” said OEDIT Executive Director Eve Lieberman.
The Colorado Economic Development Commission approved up to $4,901,635 in a performance-based Job Growth Incentive Tax Credit for the company over an eight-year period. These incentives are contingent upon ITS, referred to as Project Falcon II throughout the OEDIT review process, meeting net new job creation and salary requirements.
The City of Colorado Springs Economic Development Department has extended ongoing support to the company through its Rapid Response Program, as well as talent and workforce development support and other services. El Paso County, the administrator for the Pikes Peak Enterprise Zone (EZ), estimates that ITS is eligible for up to $772,651 in state income tax credits through that program.
“ITS’ decision to expand in Colorado Springs reinforces our region’s reputation as a national hub for aerospace, defense, and cybersecurity innovation,” said Johnna Reeder Kleymeyer, President & CEO of the Colorado Springs Chamber & EDC. “These 500 new, high-paying jobs strengthen our local economy and highlight the skilled talent pool and strategic assets that define this region. We’re proud to support ITS’ continued growth and the critical missions they serve.”
“Colorado Springs is shaping the future of defense and technology, and we welcome ITS’ expansion as part of that momentum," said City of Colorado Springs Mayor Yemi Mobolade. "Their decision to grow here and create 500 new jobs and careers reflects the strength of our skilled workforce, the collaborative spirit of our city, and our shared commitment to national security and innovation. This is more than an economic win; it’s an investment in people and in the future of Colorado Springs. We are proud to be the home of a company building a lasting legacy of service, opportunity, and excellence.”
“El Paso County is proud to support companies that invest in our community,” said Carrie Geitner, Chair of the El Paso County Board of Commissioners. “This expansion reflects the strength of our local economy and our growing role in engineering, cybersecurity, and space systems. With a workforce made up largely of veterans and reservists, and a strong commitment to helping service members transition to civilian careers, this company exemplifies what it means to give back—especially in a region with deep military roots. With support from the Pikes Peak Enterprise Zone, their growth brings quality jobs and long-term benefits to our region.”
In addition to Colorado, ITS considered Henderson, Nevada and Huntsville, Alabama for expansion. Headquartered in Colorado Springs, the company currently has 168 employees, 110 of whom are in Colorado. The company operates in 10 states, including Hawaii, and in Australia.
