Outdoor Recreation Roundtable Rural Economic Development Toolkit
Outdoor recreation offers opportunities for sustainable economic and community development across the United States. Bureau of Economic Analysis Outdoor Recreation Satellite Account
The Bureau of Economic Analysis (BEA) released economic data for 2020 on outdoor recreation’s economic impact on the U.S. economy. These new numbers show outdoor recreation generated $689 billion in economic output and created 4.3 million jobs.

In 2018, the Colorado Outdoor Recreation Industry Office released the Colorado Outdoor Rx Report report demonstrating current challenges and opportunities in Colorado and how partners can better plan and implement a strategy that promotes health improvement through the great outdoors.
