Film Festival Support and Promotion Grant

Program Summary

The Film Festival Support and Promotion Grant supports more than 40 film festivals and educational events each year throughout Colorado. With a focus on Colorado’s rural areas, film festivals bring economic activity to different areas of the state by attracting new visitors.

The Colorado Office of Film, Television and Media (COFTM) provides financial support to film festivals of all kinds, especially to newer festivals to help communities start and host successful events.

To apply for this grant, your film festival needs to take place in Colorado.

If you have not received sponsorship in the past, you will need to submit an interest form before applying to the program. We will review your submitted interest form and notify you if you are invited to apply. This application has a rolling deadline, meaning we will review applications as we receive them.

If you have received sponsorship in the past, please contact the Colorado Office of Film, Television and Media (COFTM).

At least three months before your film festival, submit the Film Festival Support and Promotion Grant Interest Form. As a part of the interest form, you will need to include:

  • festival description – such as a one-pager or a previous film festival guide
  • sponsorship tiers for the upcoming festival

If you are selected to apply, you will be contacted. We will then ask you to provide additional information about the film festival.

You will receive the award via electronic funds transfer before the start of the film festival.

The Colorado Office of Film, Television and Media and the film festival will agree upon a level of sponsorship. The film festival will need to complete all benefits outlined in the sponsorship tiers.
