September 2023: EDC Approved Job Growth Incentive Tax Credit and Strategic Fund Projects

The following projects were approved at the February 2023 Colorado Economic Development Commission meeting. The Colorado Economic Development Commission (EDC) develops incentive packages to assist with existing business expansions and new company relocations to grow jobs in all regions of the state. They typically meet on the third Thursday of every month.

U.S. Small Business Administration Awards Colorado $700,000 STEP Grant to Spur Small Business Exports

The U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA) has awarded the Colorado Office of Economic Development and International Trade (OEDIT) a $700,000 State Trade and Expansion Program (STEP) grant to promote international exports for small businesses. This is a $200,000 increase from OEDIT’s 2022 award. 

Colorado Aerospace Industry Continues to Grow: Polis-Primavera Administration Secures Aerospace and Defense Engineering Firm for Colorado Springs Expansion & Job Creation

The Polis-Primavera Administration and the Global Business Development Division of the Colorado Office of Economic Development and International Trade (OEDIT) announced today that Boecore, an aerospace and defense engineering company that specializes in software solutions, systems engineering and cybersecurity, has selected Colorado Springs, Colorado for expansion.

Growing Colorado’s Semiconductor Industry: Polis Administration Capturing Federal CHIPS and Science Act Funding for Colorado Jobs and Economy

Today, Governor Polis and the Global Business Development Division of the Colorado Office of Economic Development & International Trade (OEDIT) announced the CHIPS Refundable Tax Credits Program to aid Colorado companies in securing federal funding available through the CHIPS and Science Act. This funding will support the development of the semiconductor and advanced manufacturing industries within Colorado, creating new good-paying jobs and contributing to a strong, diversified economy.

New Semiconductor Industry Manager to Spearhead U.S. CHIPS Initiative for Colorado

The Global Business Development Division of the Colorado Office of Economic Development & International Trade (OEDIT) has named Dan Salvetti as Semiconductor Industry Manager. This new role will support the continued growth of Colorado’s semiconductor industry and play a key role in implementing new OEDIT programming to aid Colorado companies in benefitting from the federal CHIPS and Science Act.
