Kristin Stephens

Larimer County Commissioner - District 2

Kristin was elected as a Larimer County Commissioner in 2020. She previously served on the Fort Collins City Council for six years and was Mayor Pro Tem from 2019-2020. During this time, she served on the Housing Committee and worked on the 2021 Housing Strategic Plan. Before becoming an elected official, she served on the City’s Community Development Block Grant Commission where she worked to fund affordable housing and helped draft the 2015 Fort Collins Affordable Housing Strategic Plan.

During her time as a local leader, Kristin has focused her work on housing and transportation. She has worked alongside mobile home park residents to improve their quality of life and has advocated for changes in the land use code that encourage density to address our housing crisis. As a member of the North Front Range Metropolitan Planning Organization and Chair of the 34 Coalition, she has advocated for more transit-oriented development in Larimer and Weld County.
