Colorado Rural Resiliency and Recovery Roadmaps

The Colorado Rural Resiliency and Recovery Roadmaps program provided technical assistance and grants for regional teams of rural communities to drive economic relief, recovery, diversification, and long-term resilience.

In June 2021, the Department of Local Affairs’ Colorado Resiliency Office in partnership with OEDIT’s Rural Opportunity Office selected 16 rural communities that represent 169 communities across Colorado to participate in this program. Applicants were selected based on their rural status, COVID-19 impacts, connected economies, and economic vulnerability factors.

Awarded communities received:

  • paid one-on-one consulting
  • connection to a network of partners
  • a customized economic development plan for your community
  • technical assistance
  • implementation funding (dependent on project)

The program consists of 3 phases:

  1. July 2021 to September 2021: Build out a curriculum to connect the regional team and assess the current situation of the communities.
  2. September 2021 to February 2022: Plan and strategize a roadmap and plan unique to that region. Some participants may work on this through September 2022.
  3. February 2022 to September 2023: Implement the plan with support from matching funding.

Applications for this program are closed. 16 regional teams representing 169 communities across Colorado are building out their roadmaps to drive economic relief, recovery, and resilience.
