Colorado Small Business Development Center Network Announces Conference Harnessing Hemp- Cultivating a Business

The East Colorado Small Business Development Center (SBDC) announces its 2020 Hemp conference Harnessing Hemp on March 6 to 7 at the University of Northern Colorado.

A part of the Colorado SBDC Network’s Leading Edge Strategic Planning Series, Harnessing Hemp will provide comprehensive training to small businesses as well as presentations geared toward both start-up and existing business. Topics will include regulations, financing, marketing and operations. Attendees will have the opportunity to interact with industry experts, lenders, and buyers.

The East Colorado SBDC director, Lisa Hudson, credits the success of the first Hemp Conference, held in February 2019, as the driver to establish a series of educational hemp seminars for agricultural producers. “The first conference generated a lot of interest and demand,” she explained.

The Colorado SBDC network is housed in the Colorado Office Of Economic Development and International Trade, under Governor Polis’s administration. Polis has made supporting innovation and economic initiatives around the cannabis industry a statewide priority. Colorado continues to establish a strong market and provide rural communities with the opportunity to advance this high-value agricultural commodity.
