16 Colorado Arts Organizations Awarded $300,000 in National Endowment for the Arts Grants

Denver — The Colorado Office of Economic Development and International Trade (OEDIT) announced today that 16 diverse Colorado arts organizations were selected as first-round award recipients of the National Endowment for the Arts’ (NEA) 2021 grant cycle.

“The creativity and resilience of artists and arts organizations across the country have inspired Americans during this challenging year,” said Arts Endowment Acting Chairman Ann Eilers. “These projects represent the vitality and perseverance of arts organizations small and large to overcome significant challenges, transform to new ways of engagement, and forge new relationships that benefit the diverse populations in neighborhoods and cities throughout the United States.”

Colorado’s recipients span from Aspen to Fort Collins and represent a wide array of creative disciplines. Colorado Creative Industries Director Margaret Hunt said, "The National Endowment for the Arts has been providing direct funding to Colorado arts organizations since 1965 when it was signed into law by President Lyndon B. Johnson. In a year when the arts were so profoundly affected, we are grateful for these federal and state partnerships, our collective ability to serve Coloradans and support Colorado’s economic recovery through the work of artists and arts organizations."
