New Treks

New Treks is a nonprofit that teaches the foundations of adventure. During the school year we support Title 1 schools with classes that students gain credit for. We have been considered an environmental science class, a leadership class, physical education, an elective, and health and wellness to name a few. 98% of our students identify as a person of color and 100% are on free and reduced lunch. During the summers we partner with local organizations that include Human and family services, behavioral health centers, low income and refugee housing assistance programs, and more. Our aim is to make the outdoors and knowledge of the outdoors accessible to groups that have been marginalized and work not only with youth but families to encourage growth and adult facilitation.
