Delegation will Represent Colorado at the Americas Summit Agriculture, Workforce, and Clean Tech Innovation, Convene Governors and Education Leaders

DENVER – To encourage and spur more international cooperation, boost our state’s thriving economy, and discuss best practices in agriculture, workforce, and clean tech innovation, Governor Polis and the Colorado Office of Economic Development and International Trade (OEDIT) are attending the Americas Summit in Vancouver, Canada.

DENVER — A delegation of more than a dozen public, private, and nonprofit leaders from Regina, Saskatchewan, Canada, is visiting Denver this week as part of a strategic trade and investment mission designed to strengthen economic ties between Colorado and Saskatchewan.

COLORADO SPRINGS – Today, at the 40th Space Symposium in Colorado Springs, Colorado, Governor Jared Polis and Space Minister Judith Collins signed a Memorandum of Cooperation (MoC) between Colorado and New Zealand to strengthen the partnership between the two regions and foster opportunities in aerospace, quantum and geothermal technologies. The MoC grew out of a meeting between Governor Polis and Minister Collins in April 2024, when the leaders agreed to take active steps to further cooperation in key advanced industries.

DENVER – Today, Colorado Governor Jared Polis and British Consul General Richard Hyde signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) between Colorado and the United Kingdom (U.K.) to foster cooperation on economic relations, trade, and investment. This exciting new partnership will develop and promote shared opportunities between Colorado and the U.K.

DENVER — The U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA) has awarded the Colorado Office of Economic Development and International Trade (OEDIT) a $900,000 State Trade and Expansion Program (STEP) grant to promote international exports for small businesses. This is a $200,000 increase from OEDIT’s 2023 award, and the highest ever awarded to the state.

DENVER – Today, Gov. Jared Polis hosted a meeting with Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Mexico to the United States, Esteban Moctezuma Barragán, at the Governor’s Mansion. Gov. Polis and Ambassador Moctezuma discussed the economic ties and cultural connections between Colorado and Mexico as the United States and Mexico are celebrating 200 years of official diplomatic relations.

DENVER – Today, Gov. Jared Polis hosted a meeting with Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Japan to the United States, Shigeo Yamada, at the Governor’s Mansion. Colorado and Japan are strong economic and diplomatic partners. Gov. Polis and Ambassador Yamada discussed opportunities to strengthen the relationship, including aerospace, quantum, and climate-resilient technologies.

The Colorado Office of Economic Development and International Trade (OEDIT) is participating in the Arab Health trade show to introduce Colorado healthcare and medical technology products and services to the leading medical equipment exhibition trade show in the Middle East from January 30 to February 2, 2023.
