The Colorado Small Business Development Center Network (SBDC) has named Abram Sloss, executive director of the Denver Metro SBDC, as the recipient of the SBDC State Star award. The Denver Metro SBDC is hosted by the Denver Chamber of Commerce.
Each year, the 63 SBDC Networks from across the nation award a Center Director who has demonstrated a strong commitment to small business, makes a significant contribution to their state network and is an overall exemplary performer. These individuals are recognized at the National SBDC Conference to take place in September.
Abram Sloss has repeatedly gone above and beyond when it comes to supporting the Colorado SBDC Network. In 2018, The Denver Metro SBDC conducted a statewide needs assessment to gather small business data and assist the network in aligning resources with the current market place. Abram is currently spearheading a health care initiative in which the center will supply a healthcare education and navigation tool to assist small business owners in navigating health care options for themselves and their employees. “Abram continues to innovate and push the State SBDC Network to challenge the status quo,” said Joey Jenkins, state director of the Colorado SBDC Network. “He is a tremendous asset to Colorado’s small business community.”
The Colorado SBDC Network has 15 full-time centers and more than 70 part-time centers that provide free consulting and no- or low-cost training for entrepreneurs across the state.
